What is EMDR?

This is a powerful, evidence-based therapeutic approach I use to help you process and heal from traumatic experiences and distressing memories. By using bilateral stimulation, EMDR helps to reduce the emotional charge of traumatic memories, decreasing the intensity of things that are bothering you today.

What is EMDR like?

EMDR standards call for a very systematic approach to the healing process. We will spend time together to develop a sense of trust and safety before “diving in.”

Together we will define a specific memory of something that happened in your past that is triggering you in your present life. The protocols inherent in the EMDR process provide safety, and protecting your safety is important to me.
